Question of the Day: Day 6

As an Artist and a  Human being, how would you turn the „gate of no return“ (point of no return) into a positive picture?

Convincing people about the good things that came out of the tales and suffering of the Gate of no return. Some people taken away were able to make it and their descendants are enjoying life now.

In a day of performance. There should be nothing that could Stopp this performance. The show must go on anytime, anywhere, no matter what. Derrick

As an artist my point of no return is, when I am to perform to an audience being on stage, there is no way I can go off stage, so to make a positive picture, I will have to improvise with ease to make it look natural. As a person, when the situtatio goes bad and there seems to be no solution, I will have to believe in myself and face the situtation squarely. Weisheit

After a long reflection I realised, that that gate is a symbol of my past identity. I am free. As an artist, I will try to make the best of every opportunity and let this freedom reflect. Edem

Taking an important decision, which cannot be changed, makes me go through things and makes me grow. But it only works in personal life, not if governments or institutions force their decisions on you. Marie

You should just drop the ‚“no“ and there you have it.  Seriously. Driving back from Elmina to ‚Accra there was this music video of Amakye Dede playing his highlife music. Among the musicians were black and white people, playing together on one stage. The same way it was throughout the Framewalk week. Paz

I can’t turn this into positive, at this gate of no return in Elmina, you had to go, no matter what. Marie – Lena

You have to be yourself and give your maximum best. Edwin

As a human being you should believe, that there is nothing called „no return“, with the power insice and beliefs, you will always find the way back. Samaa

Forget the past and face the future. Ben

When I decided to study theatre I went through the gate of no return. But this gate in Elmina is different. No one forced me to go through my gate and in Elmina people were humiliated and tortured for what they were. As a human and as an artist I will not be a victim of majority and I will do what is possible to destroy one way gates. Morad

I will try to be creative enough and make the best of the situation. Isabella

I will use my exoerience and my knowledge to give it all and the best. Patience
